Laura Gannon, CPA
Laura is the founder of Gannon CPA, LLC. With over 20 years of experience helping businesses and individuals, Laura's passion is to help businesses grow and reach their full potential. Laura works primarily with closely held businesses as a trusted advisor.
Laura keeps a strong pulse on industry trends and technologies and is a leader within her profession. She works proactively to improve the accounting profession for the next generation. Working currently with other firm leaders in New England as conference chair on the MAP committee for the Massachusetts Society of CPA's. She previously served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Society of CPA's and the Audit Committee. She has volunteered in her community as a soccer coach for many years, provided advisory and tax services to local non profits, and served for many years as Treasurer for a non profit raising money for people suffering with Huntington's Disease.
Laura spent several years working for a large regional public accounting firm that provided her with the skills and knowledge that fueled her passion and technological curiosity. Prior to entering public accounting Laura worked in a tax law firm and for the Internal Revenue Service in both auditing and litigation support positions. She is a graduate of Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
Laura is married to Simon Dolan and has three children. In her spare time, she loves to cook (and eat), read, play basketball, soccer, ski, hike with her dog, is obsessed with barre class, loves the beach and spending time outdoors.
Hannah Shaw
Hannah is our client administrator. She keeps our client's books up to date and prepares our individual taxes. She also guides our clients with our processess and technology.
Hannah has been in the finance industry since 2011, where she began in banking, then moved into a small CPA. She has also worked in the medical and dental industries.
Hannah is from Southern NH but currently resides in Tewksbury, MA with her husband and their two children. She enjoys camping, cooking, DIY projects and spending time with her family.
Barry N. Chait, Esquire
Barry is our senior tax counsel. Barry brings 40 years of experience servicing small and large businesses as well as individuals. Barry considers himself like a holistic advisor, where he ensures that he knows and understands all aspects of the business as well as all family matters so he can properly advise to the question at hand.
Barry has worked at several large national accounting firms as well small firms where he learned his expertise. When asked, what is his expertise, he will tell you, whatever my client needs it to be. It is much easier to learn the tax code than it is to learn about the client. Each client is different, with unique needs and Barry ensures that he learns the needs of his clients. No client it too small and no client is too big. While in law school, he learned that the library has answers to questions and one needs to know how to ask the correct question and how to interpret the answer.
Barry volunteers a lot of his time serving on boards and advising nonprofits. Barry is past treasure of New England Chapter of the American Liver Foundation, Director and Treasurer to the Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation, in charge of media for Christmas in the City, and founder of the Harpoon 5-miler benefiting the Angel Fund for ALS research. Through his passion of helping others, Barry has presented numerous seminars for nonprofits on board development, fundraising, and the new 990, which is no longer new. These seminars were presented by Massachusetts Lawyers Clearing House, the Boston Bar Association and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.
Barry has a BS in Finance from the University of Massachusetts, a law degree from New England School of Law and completed the Masters in Accounting Program at Northeastern University.
In his spare time, you can usually see Barry running around with his daughter and granddaughter. Barry is an avid sports fan, ran and completed the Boston Marathon 13 times, practices yoga and loves food.
